Bistro A Vin

Our TasteMakers gang was so excited to be welcomed to downtown’s newest cozy hideaway- Bistro A Vin, a French wine bar located on the corner of Archdale and Market St.
Run by the same owners of Cafe Framboise (located next-door), the endearing and passionate French couple Dominique and Florence (serious #couplegoals) opened the casual and comforting Bistro A Vin in March- offering French wines paired with French-inspired small plates. Our group began with a glass of some of the best bubbly I’ve sipped in my 27 years of life while chatting with Dominique and Florence about their past in France. Hearing their vibrant stories about good wine and good food, we were instantly transported to a French oasis, buzzin’ on the best of vibes.
First up, we were treated to plates of Gougeres, French cheese puffs flavored with Gruyere and a hint of nutmeg, and Puff Pastry Sticks with Hummus, both only $5 on their Happy Hour menu (Monday-Friday, 4-7 pm).
Next up came one big Charcuterie/Cheese Board for the books, full of French cheeses and meats that Dominique and Florence ship in fresh to Bistro A Vin on a WEEKLY basis. Ranging from soft and velvety to sharp and firm, we feasted on a selection of Cow, Goat and Sheep milk cheeses alongside salami, prosciutto and other mouthwatering meats. Pickles, almonds, honey, dried fruit, grapes, peaches and jam made for awesome accoutrements upon toasty French bread.
The deliciousness didn’t stop there, as we were then presented some dishes from Bistro A Vin’s “Bistro” menu:
Dominique and Florence made sure to send us off with one sweet ending- well really two:
