Zero George Restaurant & Bar

Our TastemakersCHS crew was invited into one of Charleston’s most charming and buzzworthy hotel restaurants, Zero George Restaurant & Bar, to sample what may arguably be the most extravagant and over-the-top burger in the city. Chef Vinson Petrillo creates this $33 masterpiece, dubbed the “Royal with Cheese” with Wagyu beef, and tops it with mushrooms, mushrooms, caramelized onions, “Kraft Singles Fondue” (melts like a champ) and wait for it….. Shaved Truffles (and trust me, they don’t skimp!). With one bite, our group all fell silent, many claiming (including myself) that they have never tasted a better burger.
In addition to each being treated to Chef Vinsons Royal With Cheese, Zero George let us sample one of the best happy hour deals in the city, one impressive Cheeseboard and two glasses of wine for just $25- available every day from 5-6 pm! Loaded with three types of premier cheeses, bruschetta crisps, dried fruits, nuts, jam and honey, the board had a little of everything for everyone to nibble on.
Finally, those wishing to cap the night off on a sweet note were treated to a Pumpkin Spice Latte, showcasing just one of the many unique offerings on Zero George’s vast cocktail menu.
Zero George is the cream of the crop when it comes to premier lodging and dining in the city. Our group hopes to return sometime in 2019 to try Chef Vinson’s dinner menu- with his daily three-course menu available for $59 per person, or Chef’s Tasting Menu with beverage pairings available for $135 per person.
