Jack of Cups Saloon

There’s no sign on the front of Jack of Cups Saloon in Folly Beach, which is fitting for this “if you know, you know” local favorite spot. While the restaurant doesn’t serve typical beachy fare, it fits seamlessly into the offbeat and quirky atmosphere we all love about Folly Beach.
Jack of Cups’ menu is constantly changing, sometimes focusing on a specific country (like Italian or Hungarian), sometimes featuring a mix of Asian and South Asian cuisines, but always with a creative twist.
We were lucky enough to try most of the dishes on their current menu. To start we shared the Capn’ Crunch Deviled Eggs (trust us, they’re incredible) and Pretzel Bites dusted in cinnamon sugar and served with habanero-pineapple cream cheese dip. We also sampled both the Peanut Ginger and Dill Pickle Soups, both of which were creamy and rich with flavor. While an Arugula Salad might not initially sound like the most exciting option, the addition of crumbled feta and housemade red goddess dressing took it to a new level.
Next we enjoyed the peanut-topped Pad Thai Burger and Indian-spiced Keema Lettuce Wraps, as well as two very different noodle dishes: the Cold Noodle Bowl packed with Southeast Asian flavors, and Fancy Bucatini served in a savory espresso cream sauce, citrus ricotta and biscotti crumble.
We could hear our dessert before we saw it - a unicorn-hued slice of Cotton Candy Cheesecake sprinkled with crackling Pop Rocks. It was gone in minutes.
Throughout our incredible meal, we sipped Sake Slushees (with two flavors: Aperol Freeze or Cucumber Melon), the current nonprofit giveback item. We’re continuing to partner with We Are Family in Q2, with $1 from each Sake Slushee sold in June going directly to support their work with LGBTQI+ youth in Charleston.
