Jon Smith Subs

There’s a very specific type of hunger that can only be satisfied with one thing: a freshly made, super high quality sub sandwich made with local ingredients. After our Tastemakers gathering last week at Jon Smith Subs in Mount Pleasant Towne Centre, it’s safe to say no one left hungry.
Jon Smith Subs prepares everything on their menu in-house daily, including fresh-baked sub rolls and the highest quality steak, chicken and deli meats. Their produce is locally sourced from Limehouse Produce, and speaking from firsthand experience, you can taste the difference.
Choosing which sub to get was not easy, in fact I changed my order a few times before making my final decision. Between all of us, we ended up with the Italian, the Hot Cajun and the Crispy Buffalo Chicken Sub. We also got the Hot Steak Bomb, the sandwich Jon Smith is most well-known for, piled high with sirloin steak, grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms, bacon, tomatoes, mayo and provolone cheese.
Subs are the main focus of Jon Smith’s menu, of course, but we also enjoyed an assortment of their other offerings like crispy chicken fingers and french fries, chocolate chip and red velvet cookies straight out of the oven and creamy milkshakes topped with whipped cream- available in chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and oreo.
We’ll definitely be back when the craving hits next, and highly recommend stopping in soon to try the Hot Pastrami sub, as $1 of each one sold through October 8 will be donated to our Q3 Charity partner- The Green Heart Project. This local nonprofit provides urban farm-based experiential learning projects and school garden programs to educate students through growing, eating and celebrating food.
