The Formation Project

The Formation Project is an incredible local nonprofit that works to fight human trafficking in Charleston. Founder Kat Wehunt experienced sex trafficking first-hand from the ages of 14-17. At age 17, Kat was able to become free from trafficking, leaving her determined to turn her pain into empowerment to help other survivors begin rebuilding their lives.

The Formation Project is working to build a community-led by survivors for survivors, helping to ensure that everyone has the support to walk through trauma recovery, increase healthy connection with themselves and others, achieve educational and vocational goals, and a seat at the table to use their voice however they choose.

As part of our TastemakersCHS Charity Partnership Program, $1 from every Tom Colins sold at Nippitaty Distillery between Jan 21-Feb 21 will go to The Formation Project!
