The Green Heart Project

We are so thrilled that Pink Cactus agreed to be a part of our Charity Partnership Program and helped to donate $50 to The Green Heart Project- which builds garden-based learning projects and school garden programs. The Green Heart Project’s mission is to educate students, connect people and cultivate community through growing, eating and celebrating food. Pink Cactus donated $1 from every Tortilla Soup sold for the month to Green Heart’s programs.

The Green Heart Project’s farm-to-school programs utilize urban farms as vehicles for teaching students the lessons of respect, teamwork, accountability and entrepreneurship as they work alongside volunteers in the gardens. The urban farms also serve as outdoor laboratories, connecting students with fresh, locally-grown and healthy vegetables.

Our Tastemakers money helped sponsor two students to participate in Green Heart’s school garden programs.
